Who we are

Sarah Aghassi is a cross-sector strategist and operations executive with nearly twenty years in County of San Diego leadership, culminating as Interim Chief Administrative Officer leading 20,000 employees and an $8.5B budget. Prior to public service, she served as Director of Public Policy at the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce. As founder of PersicaSage Consulting, LLC, Sarah helps organizations rethink structures, strengthen culture, and align operations with their values - guiding leaders through people-first decision processes to determine where responsible technology truly adds value. Sarah holds a J.D. from the University of Pacific, McGeorge School of Law and a B.A. from the University of San Diego.

Karen Boyd is an Economist at the Policy & Innovation Center, where she helps mission-driven teams build safe and effective AI skills, align AI strategy with their mission, and support human flourishing in the future of work. Her scholarship on ethical AI and the future of work has been cited in more than 450 academic papers, and her book Amplify Good Work translates those insights into practical guidance for practitioners. Karen holds an MBA from the University of California, San Diego and a PhD from the University of Maryland’s School of Information.
